Intercultural Storytelling through the Arts (ISA) Project

Heritage Park is the new name for the culturally diverse neighborhood that was once known as the Sumner-Glenwood neighborhood, located in north Minneapolis. The Heritage Park Neighborhood Association (HPNA) is partnering with three artists (Tou SaiKo Lee, Candy Pettiford, and Maria Mazzara) to create the Intercultural Storytelling through the Arts (ISA) Project. The project is a multicultural intergenerational community-driven storytelling project. The goal of the ISA Project is to bridge cultural, ethnic, and generational gaps within the Heritage Park neighborhood, identify leaders to engage in future neighborhood initiatives, and build a sustainable community. The project increased involvement with HPNA, decreased isolation of residents, and created stronger intergenerational and intercultural relationships.
